Life Verse? Yes or No?
What's your life verse? Do you have one?
I've been asked that question a number of times and a number of times I've pulled one off the top of my head in order to sound somewhat spiritual, but if I was to be real honest, I'd say...I don't really have one.
What is a life verse anyway? Aren't they all life verses? I mean, isn't there a scripture that says something like, "For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart." (Hebrews 4:12)
I've had a number of verses which have meant something to me at different times. If you were to look in my Bible, you might see something like this...
I have underlined, highlighted, color coded, and written in the margins. Many of the scriptures have dates beside them or a comment, as if I was answering back.
My Bible is like a walking journal or a pair of Cliff notes. It is marked up, not out of disrespect, but out of a hungering passion to learn more, and to help me remember at a later time.
Now, back to a life verse. Though several have really stood out to me over the years, I am going to answer from now on...Yes! All of them!! What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them.
Have a great day, and enjoy the journey!
