To Orlando with Love: Day Three From a Humble Servant Warrior
Isn't God good?! I mean, have you ever known Him to disappoint or not show up?
Well I can speak from experience, God never...NEVER asks anything of us that He doesn't already have the plans in motion for or the expertise that we need.
This week as God has yet again shown Himself faithful, I am reminded of the verses Badge of Hope Ministries was founded on, "'For I know the plans I have for you,' declares the LORD, 'plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.'" Jeremiah 29:11-13
God knows what He has planned for each of us, but we must seek Him and pray. Then...then He will be found.
My sweet husband, Rick, and friend, Dennis, sought the Lord this week. God knew exactly how He was going to use them in Orlando to minister to the hurting, they just had to be willing to get out of the boat, seek hard after Him, and pray. And...He was found.
Take a look at what happened today!
Day 3
Dennis and I
headed out early this morning and were blessed the entire day. Just
like the last two days, nothing "we" had planned happened the way
"we" planned it. God guided us the entire day to places He wanted us to
be at.
We
began at an Orlando Fire Station located near the scene, and were given a
tour. I have to admit, I was pretty impressed with the building and
equipment. We then went to Orlando PD Headquarters where we were also
given a tour.
Our
journey then took us to the Citrus Bowl where family and friends were
invited to come to receive information and help in every situation you
can think of. It appeared that it was very well organized. While there,
we met with several OPD Officers as well.
We
then went to Orange County Sheriffs Department and met with the lead
Chaplain. We were invited to assist in one of their many Critical
Incident Debriefings, and did so.
Over
the course of the day, we heard from a few officers that the outlying
agencies did not have the resources coming in that Orlando did. We
decided to hit a couple of smaller departments and found it to be the case. We
went to Eatonville PD who had one officer which responded to the
scene, as well as Winter Park PD who sent two officers that night.
I
cannot tell you the number of officers and others we came into contact
with. We were able to visit, pray and fellowship with so many. I just
know God was there this whole trip, and I am now waiting anxiously for the next
blessing.
We
want to thank everyone again for their prayers and support. We feel
extremely blessed to be prayed for by so many from all over this great
country!!
Rick
