A Man of Integrity Will Not Fall

"The man of integrity walks securely, but he who takes crooked paths will be found out." Proverbs 10:9

Just this week, a story broke about an officer who had severe integrity issues. After embezzling money from an Explorer's Post and using it for personal gain, his sins were on the verge of exposure when an audit was scheduled to begin.

This officer, with nowhere else (seemingly) to turn, concocted an elaborate story and ended his life. And...further reports show that two of his family members were aware of his trail of deceipt.

God takes integrity very serious.

King Solomon penned the above verse from firsthand knowledge. After he had completed the task of building God's temple, God, Himself, appeared to Solomon and gave this command and warning...

"As for you, if you walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws, I will establish your royal throne over Israel forever...But, if you or your sons turn away from me and do not observe the commands and decrees I have given you and go off to serve other gods and worship them, then I will cut off Israel from the land I have given them and will reject this temple I have consecrated for my Name." 1 Kings 9:4-7

Solomon learned that God does not play around when it comes to integrity and walking in truth.

After allowing his many wives to lead him astray into pagan worship, God did eventually keep his word and leave the temple, and Israel was taken into captivity.

Crooked paths will always lead to destruction.

As law enforcement officers, you are held to a higher standard. Integrity and honesty must be a large part of who you are.

As Christian men and women, all of us should embrace integrity and take a stand for truth.

In a world that celebrates dishonest gain and ungodly measure, we must fight to remain different...illuminated by God's righteousness.

As for this officer, unfortunately, the legacy he left for his children and co-workers was not one of honor and service, but rather a string of lies and deceipt.

Today, examine your footsteps carefully. Many are watching and generations can be impacted either for the good or for the bad because of the decisions you make today.

Blessings,
Kristi
