America Under Fire. Is that Politically Correct?
(Just some thoughts with a little sarcasm and venting. No apologies offered.)
I just got back to my office when I received the news. There had been another active shooter situation, this time in California.
Thoughts began to run through my head - some of frustration and disgust, that the most powerful nation on earth is now becoming a doormat to hostility and violence within its borders. Heaven forbid we offend anyone by putting our boot down and doing something about it.
So what have we come to as a nation? Are we now digressing from a civilized, well-educated, hard-working, Judeo-Christian upbringing, to now one of anything goes, any belief or none at all, survival of the fittest, please don't step on my toes today, society?
Of course there will be pointing of the fingers. Everyone and every thing is to blame, you know. Liberals will say that it is the Christian, right-wing, Republicans fault. Why, they have crazy ideals, hate all refugees, and can't play nice with their Democrat counterparts, not to mention that many in this group embrace their weapons and that...that...book!
Or it will be "Those guns! We must get rid of all guns!!," as if they can shoot on their own. Wait for it....very soon we will hear rhetoric with a strong undertone of a must-prove-a-point, along with an I'm-gonna-get-my-way muscle demanding for stronger legislation. Don't be duped, people. As soon as a nation gives up their arms, the enemy has total control.
Some will blame terrorism. Yes, we can consider ourselves warned, however, the majority, including our leadership does not take these threats seriously. Instead, we open our borders and give them an all-expense trip to Disney World. Why not? We definitely do not want to be known as an exclusive country. No, we are a come one, come all nation, who embraces every other philosophy but one of common sense and civility. If they suppress our freedoms and cut off our heads, well, God bless them.
Then there are cops. Those dirty rascals who make it their life's aim to pick on the underprivileged. I'm sure we all know it will definitely be their fault somehow. Why, they should have done something to stop this latest episode and prevent bloodshed. However, we definitely want them to use their kindest words and softest tactics when dealing with these bad boys of society. It would be tragic to leave an impression of tactical wherewithal and strength.
Finally, it definitely must be Trump's fault. You know, that guy who seems to say what everyone else is thinking? We all know that he's definitely not afraid to stir the pot a little. Hmm.
Enough of the sarcasm. In all reality, our nation is on shaky ground. We have kicked God out of every aspect of our lives. If it wasn't so much trouble and expense, I'm sure that the powers-that-be would have His name erased from the hallowed walls of the monuments in Washington, while our forefathers flip over in their graves.
We have turned the other way as politicians - you know, those elected officials, who have overstepped their bounds and ignored the will of the people.
We have criticized, low-balled, and strung up our law enforcement - the first defense line for each of us. How ludicrous is that? Truth is, the more we hate on these folks who are putting their lives on the line every day, the more prevalent corruption and apathy will become. We are shooting ourselves in the foot by targeting our men and women in blue!
We have devalued and demeaned our military. We now openly reprimand those who display any type of godly faith, but welcome those who can't decide if they are male or female. Ludicrous.
We also bind their hands. When clear targets are in sight, men and women of valor stand up for what is right, or tactics are used that brandish results, we have again allowed higher authorities to dismantle and demote those who have nerve enough to be American and stand for his or her country's values.
We have watered down the gospel and offered cheap grace.
We have compromised on what God says is right and wrong.
We have hugged trees, said too many "there, there's" to the gender confused, and called out one too many folks for being politically incorrect.
I, for one, am sick of it. I am tired of all the whining and the "poor me's." Grow up and get a job.
We need to take responsibility for our own actions. There needs to be accountability and discipline for those in power who break the law, bend the rules and blatantly neglect their God-given appointments.
America needs to repent in the sight of God Almighty, grow a pair and deal with the corruption that is taking over this nation (sorry mom), find our back bone and stand up to evil, and finally, lead by example to the upcoming generation before we are wholly unrecognizable. Is that politically correct enough?
Finally, I will end with this:
God warned us that in the last days "there will be terrible times.... 2 People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, 3 without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, 4 treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 5 having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with such people." - 2 Timothy 3:1-5
I believe we have arrived, and as always, God's Word is true.
In the midst of all the chaos currently, and that which is still to come, as for me and my family, we will continue to serve the Lord, stand our ground, carry our guns and pray for our nation. We will support our police and encourage our military. We will vote our values and teach our children. My patriotic roots run deep, but my Christian authority and inheritance flows down to the bone.
With that said....Who's with me?
Kristi
My family and I are with you.
