Tears and Thoughts for Dallas and the Thin Blue Line. We are NOT Defeated!

I awoke this morning early around 3:00 AM and could not sleep.  My head was pounding...the thunder claps outside popping like the fourth of July.

Little did I know at the time, that five brave Dallas heroes had died in the line-of-duty and another six were fighting for their lives.  I would later read about the frightening details upon opening my Facebook page for the morning.

Friends, we are at war. A great divide is enveloping our nation and its people.  The enemy is pitting one person against another...skin against skin.

So what is there to say?  What can be learned out of all this heartache and tragedy?  Here are my thoughts...my thoughts, whether you agree or not.

To my officer friends...

Don't give up the fight.  You are brave.  You are loved.  You are needed.  Without your selfless sacrifice, our nation will fall to chaos.

Though the line has been drawn in the sand, you are the defender of the line.  Hold them back.  Fight the good fight.  Do not retreat.  You have been called to this battle for such a time as this.

Though you have sworn to the oath and wear that badge with honor, sometimes the road gets rough and the load becomes too much to bear.  Right now, the load is very, very heavy and the path dark.

I know a lot of you are questioning whether to risk your life for the sake of those who do not care.

I'm sure many of you are struggling right now as to whether or not to even go to work...to put on that uniform, and I cannot fault you for those feelings, but this I know to be true, God is with you in this fight.  He promises us these words in Deuteronomy 31:6, "Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you."

There will be (and are) many who slam you in the media.  They armchair quarterback things they have no idea about.

Many folks have banded against you in hatred and distrust simply because you wear the badge.  They inherit skewed ideas of who you are simply because they are sheep and sheep band together without truly thinking for themselves or awakening to the real and present threat.

I implore you...don't lose your integrity or grit.  These sheep need boundaries set in place by our Heavenly Father and YOU are those boundaries, but the boundary lines must be above reproach.

As you continue on now after the darkness of such a deep pitted wound, know that there are still those who pray for you...those who appreciate you...those who would fight for you at a moment's notice.

We see you and hold you close to our heart.

To my LE family...

God told us in John 16:33, "In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

We are in those days of trouble, yet we can have the assurance that Jesus is with us.

I see comments like, "This has got to stop!" and I often think it as well, but sadly the truth is that it will only continue.

We are living in fallen, dark times.  God warned us that in the last days there would be much evil and we know that in reality, things have to get bad before they become good; night comes before the dawn.

So how do we maneuver in times like this?  We simply trust.

Psalm 121:1-2 says, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains—where does my help come from?  My help comes from the Lordthe Maker of heaven and earth.

Nobody understands the fears and frustrations you have but another member of the law enforcement family.  There will be naysayers and disrespecting people who flaunt their "televised knowledge".

They will berate and belittle you, and will seek to get a negative response out of your character.  Don't let them win.

The enemy will try and conjure up fear within your soul and rob you of your peace and joy.  Give those thoughts over to God.  Stand strong and always keep Christ's banner of peace over your life.

You can do this!  You can stay level-headed even in trying times.

Be supportive of your officer and always find ways to encourage the thin blue line....they desperately need it!

To everyone else....

If you are a supporter of law enforcement, now is the time to be heard.

We have sat idly by while evil men (and women) have invaded our country, our communities and our homes, and have for the most part, watched without lifting a finger to do anything about it.

We have swallowed criticism of and bought into lies about our men and women in uniform, and that must end.

What I'm seeing is a whole lot of talk, but no action.  Now is the time to interject, if we want to salvage what is left of what we enjoy here.

When you see an officer, don't jump to conclusions that he or she is automatically out to get you.

Believe me...for the large majority of them, picking on unsuspecting, innocent people is the farthest thing from their minds or their agenda.  Most of them truly just want to do their job and get home to their loved ones.  They don't care whether you are black, white, Hispanic, oriental or alien, nor do they have time to profile everyone they encounter.  That notion is simply bogus for the majority of officers, and is only promoted because it is a great seller of news stories.

Officers respond to calls from you and me, the public.  They run to the threat of danger.  They put their lives (and ultimately the lives of their whole family) on the line for others.   These are men and women who care about people and want to make a difference.  They are sheepdogs.  Sheepdogs watch over and guard the sheep.

If we continue to turn against and kill off our sheepdogs, we the sheep will be an open target to all who enter our land.  We NEED our sheepdogs!

Today, I implore you...support them!

************

With that said, and in closing, I just want to offer up a prayer for those who hold the line and for those families of the fallen who have been left behind.  Join with me...

Dear Heavenly Father,

We are a people with blood on our hands.  We have turned away from you and have sought our own way, our own agenda, and our own thoughts.  We have allowed the enemy to come in and divide us as a people and a nation and I beseech You, please forgive us and heal our land.

God, for those who You have entrusted to keep the peace and guard those within our borders, I pray for their safety.  I ask that you surround them with Your supernatural presence.  That You shield them with Your mighty angelic artillery and keep them hidden away from their enemies.

God lift them up and strengthen them; give them courage to stand and fight the good fight.

Lord I pray that You also draw near all those who have lost a loved one.  I know there are so many who are hurting today as the result of sin and sheer evil.  Give them comfort as only You can.  Keep them from all the negative comments and slanderous talk.  Set their feet upon the rock...You, Lord, and help them continue on with the legacy their officer leaves behind.

Lord, You are our only hope.  You alone can save.  Come quickly, Lord Jesus!

In Your Precious Name,
Amen!

Stay safe friends,
Kristi
