Who Am I?
Who am I? That was just one of the fun games my kids and I used to play when they were little. One person would act out a scene from history or pretend to be a family member. It was fun to try and guess who the person was supposed to be.
Sometimes as adults, though, it's not so fun. In real life, we make decisions that define us, often for the rest of our lives. Things like who we marry, how many children to have, where we live, what career to choose, etc.
There are also moments in our spiritual lives that we cry out to God and say, "Who am I, God?!" Maybe you haven't ever done that, but I assure you I have plenty of times for all of us! It's as if we try and force ourselves into a preconceived mold. If I just look like so and so, or talk like her or even obtain the same accomplishments.
Let me share with you something a good friend shared with me just this evening...
We are all unique individuals with our own God-given talents and giftings. If we looked like everyone else, talked or acted like all the others, what a boring world this would be. God, however, has created us all as one-of-a-kind masterpieces, fitted for the select role He has hand-picked just for us.
In the Old Testament book of Jeremiah, God said these words to the old prophet which are also fitting for you and me..."Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart." Jeremiah 1:5
So, friends, wherever you are today and whatever circumstances you find yourself in, know that God has designed you perfectly and especially for Him. Seek His will and His purposes, and He will show you exactly who you are. Smile.
Hugs to you and have a wonderful rest of the week!
Kristi
