Thanksgiving Day at the Neace's

Good evening, cyber friends.  I hope your Thanksgiving was amazing and full of God's richest blessings!

Ours was a blessed one, but not without a tinge of sadness.  My dad passed away earlier this year and we definitely felt a bit of a void by his absence.  However, we had a great day full of God's goodness and I remembered to add a photo of him and my mother-in-law on the table as an honor and remembrance.

We were so blessed this year to have our middle son home from Bible college, Rick's dad and sister, as well as my mom, our oldest son and his wife and little guy, and the daughter's boyfriend (our daughter had to work until the afternoon, but we saved her a plate...or two.)  Smile.

Of course, the grandson was the life of the party.  At a year and a half years old, he's into EVERYTHING.  But, he loves his Grammy and has me wrapped around his pudgy little finger!

Later in the evening, against every fiber in my being, I decided I might as well join the rest of the crowd and head to Wal-Mart for some post-Thanksgiving sales.  Rick, being the sweetheart that he is, changed from his nice, comfy lounge pants to his jeans and off we went, into the sea of die hard shoppers.

Ten minutes into our little excursion, the daughter who had since gotten off work, ate, did a quick change and headed for all night shopping, called to say that the car blew up...again!  Ugh.  So, needless to say, we spent the next couple of hours waiting on a tow truck and keeping an eye on wild-eyed teenagers ready to continue their shopping spree.

Today, we spent the whole morning doing a little of the bargain hunting that we missed out on last evening, then took a long walk in the 42 degree weather.  A little breezy, but invigorating.

That was the gist of our holiday.  Now back to reality, but continuing on with our thankfulness for family, food, and all the blessings God brings, as well as the trials which make our faith stronger.

Hope you were able to experience some wonderful memories at your house.  May God bless you in abundance over the coming days.

Yours truly,
Kristi

P.S.  Now's a good time to pick up your copy of Layers!  A little Bible study never hurt anyone. :)
