Not Guilty! By Order of the King.

I've been walking through Romans with my online Bible study group and wanted to share with you today's devotion.  Hope it speaks to your heart.

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand."
 Romans 5:1-2

Justification (the act of making righteous).

Peace with God.

Access by faith into grace.

Ability to stand.

These are all promises God gives those who have been transformed from being an enemy of God (Romans 5:10) to a child of the King.

In law enforcement, officers acquire many enemies. It's not really by choice, although, there are those folks who most officers would certainly not pal around with.

Yet, the authority of the uniform and governmental commission to keep peace and order by nature places many in the enemy category. Those who fail to keep the laws and have no desire to do so, place upon themselves the yoke of the law. Thereby, they pay the consequences when they step out of bounds and follow their own sinful will.

Similarly, each of us is born into sin. We tend to follow our own way and seek our own path wholly away from holy God. We, the Bible says, are enemies, as we do not seek righteousness nor obey His commands.
However, God made a provision to re-unite us to Himself. "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

If we repent of our sins and turn from them, believe that Jesus died for us on the cross and rose the third day, then allow Christ to be Lord of our life, then we enter His great peace, are justified by His great power, are given access to His unending grace, and are able to stand in His amazing presence.

We are declared....not guilty!

Thank Him today, won't you?
