2nd Annual Officer Appreciation & Memorial Service

Last evening, Badge of Hope Ministries hosted our 2nd Annual Officer Appreciation & Memorial Service.

We had the pleasure this year to again have Kelly Biser, wife of Detective John Biser, provide the beautiful music, the Franklin Co. Color Guard present the flag, Sheriff Steve Pelton lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance, and many Chaplains and Officers read off the names of the fallen from 2016, as well as those killed in-the-line-of-duty this year to date.

I had the pleasure of spending a little time thanking those officers currently serving, but also reading the so-telling words of the late Paul Harvey, in What is a Policeman. (Check out this video)


The greatest highlight of the evening, though, was the honor of Commissioner Dave Hinson presenting us with a plaque designating May 2nd as the official Franklin County, State of Missouri, Police Appreciation Day!  Way to go, Rick, for getting this through!
