Thoughts for the Nation in the Aftermath of the Vegas Carnage

Now up to 58 dead, 515 injured in the Las Vegas shooting.

Friends, this is an act of terrorism, but driving that act is pure evil.

We need to be in fervent prayer for all those affected by this heinous crime. Though recently we have become a nation divided, at times such as this, we pull together because that is what humanity does.

To our law enforcement officers, your bravery and loyalty is nothing short of heroic. As you were trained, your own personal safety was set aside at the sudden call for assistance. You looked evil in its face, yet you did your duty diligently. For that, I stand and applaud you!

To all the EMS/firefighters, your service is not unnoticed or unappreciated. You play a crucial role in helping those who are facing their worst nightmare.

For all the doctors and nurses jumping into action as casualties came through your doors, your selfless act of mercy was a blessing to all those who desperately needed care.

Finally, to all the heroes on the street who courageously helped others, as well as the hotel staff members who worked to do what needed to be done...God bless you.

May we as a nation not allow hatred to unravel the very fibers of the godly grit and grace that was established so many years ago.

May we turn back to the One who holds everything within His hand.

May we place blame towards the evil one who is hell bent on destroying what God has created, and not become embittered towards the One who beckons us to come to Him for safe keeping and strength.

Lord, give us wisdom. Guide our thoughts. Forgive us of our sins. Draw us close. Renew our hearts. Comfort our grief. And finally, heal this land. We need You!

  1. 💗 Made me think of this verse : Romans 12:19
Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord.
